“Goooood Moooorning Hinaaa-ack!” Hina had punched Isshin right in the face making him fall on to the floor as he was proceeding to wake her up by a so called sneak attack. “Honestly Isshin do you have to be so loud in the morning?” Isshin rubbed his chin as he stood up and dusted himself off. “You are quite skilled my daughter but…you’ve left yourself wide open!” He crouched down and proceeded to trip her to which she responded by jumping up and kicking him square in the chin sending him flying out of her room. “If you want to practice your fighting abilities why don’t you go try waking up your son.” His eyes sparkled at Hina’s words and rushed down the hallway and towards Ichigo’s room; a smirked appeared on her lips as she heard a loud crash and a yelp coming from Isshin. “Well done my son, I see I have nothing more to teach you.” Ichigo let out a frustrated sigh as he walked into the bathroom muttering out loud. “Idiot, it’s about time he gave up.” Hina laughed as she quickly got changed then headed down stairs to have breakfast with Karin and Yuzu. “Good morning Hina, I have breakfast ready, I made your favorite.” Yuzu smiled at Hina as she had put down her plate at the kitchen table. “Good morning Yuzu, you didn’t have to go through all that trouble for me.” She smiled down at her taking a seat next her Karin while she began to eat her breakfast that Yuzu made for her. Yuzu let out a sigh as she went by the stairs and called Ichigo to come down and eat. “Ichigo your food is going to get cold! Ichi-“She stopped as she felt a hand on her shoulder; she looked up and saw Hina who was smiling at her.
“Don’t worry Yuzu I’ll go get Ichigo; go sit and eat with Karin I’ll be back in five seconds.” As soon as Yuzu sat down there was a loud crash at the bottom of the stairs which made Yuzu jump and Karin laugh. “Hey what the hell was that for Hina!?” He looked at her as she walked passed him and grabbed her bag. “Yuzu was calling you to eat your food before it got cold.” “Well I didn’t hear her, how many times did she call me?” “Only once.” “Well that’s why.” “She should only have to call you once Ichigo, it’s not like you’re a mile away.” Hina took her plate from the table and put it in the dishwasher then she went to walk out the door but stopped and stood in front of the poster that Isshin made of his wife. She smiled as she put her hands together and made a prayer; when Hina finished she waved to Ichigo, Yuzu and Karin. “See you in five minutes Ichigo, see you after school Karin, Yuzu.” She walked out the door with her bag and headed off towards school. *My name’s Hina Sanada, I’m a high school student, for as long as I can remember I’ve had the ability to see ghosts; I never understood why I could see them until I decided to mention it to my parents. They said that they would tell me when was older, that I would be able to understand better; but sadly they never got the chance to.
They were killed by a hollow, at that time I didn’t know what a hollow was, I remember seeing them both killed right before my eyes, I ran and tried to help them but before I could an old man who was dressed in a white outfit grabbed me so I couldn’t go near them. Then I saw the hollow explode into tiny pieces by what looked like a light blue arrow, I looked to where the attack came from and saw a young man who was dressed in a white suite and wore glasses. He left as quickly as he came and the old man who prevented me from running to my parents and my death told me what the monster was and what my parents really were. *“Hina…Hina are you alright?” She was brought out of her past memory and looked to her left. “Oh hello Orihime, how long have you been here?” “Only ten minutes-“ “TEN MINUTES!? Oh I’m so sorry Orihime how many times did you call my name?” Orihime laughed as she shook her head. “Don’t worry about it it’s alright …Hina…?” “Hmm?” “You were thinking about what happened to your parents again weren’t you?” Hina smiled sadly as she nodded her head, “It’s been 10 years now; you would think that I would be over it by now.” “Overcoming something like that is hard, it wasn’t any different with my brother but with friends there beside you it gets easier.”
Hina nodded her head in agreement, “Yea but I swear when I find that hollow he’ll regret the day he ever met me or my parents!” “With an attitude like that you’ll get even stronger.” Hina turned around and smiled as she threw her arms around her tall, smart and kind loving friend. “Uryu!” He let out a chuckle as he hugged his tiny friend back, “It’s good to see that you’re still as tough and confident as ever Hina.” She smiled as they began to walk to school as Chad and Ichigo joined the group. “Hollow’s are starting to come around more frequently now, and with only the five of us here it will take sometime before we can reduce their numbers.” “Don’t worry Orihime we’ll be able to finish off any hollows that come here, and we train everyday or try to at least.” Orihime smiled nodding her head at Hina. The day went by fast as the bell rang and the students of Karakura High left the building in flooding numbers, the last ones to leave where Hina, Orihime, Ichigo, Uryu and Chad. “Hey don’t forget were going to the movies so be at our house by 4:00 sharp!” Uryu looked at Hina as he got ready to leave, “You do realize that’s two hours away right?” “Yes, I’m going to stay after school with Orihime to watch Tatsuki’s kendo practice.” “Oh I see, well see you at your house then.” Uryu left heading in the direction of his house as Chad went his way home. “Don’t be late Chad!!!”
He nodded his head and Ichigo began to walk home, “Well I’ll see you at the house Hina, Orihime.” They nodded at him as they walked towards where Tatsuki was waiting for them when a loud beeping nose came from Hina’s bag. She looked in her bag as her soul reaper badge was going off, “Don’t worry Orihime I got this one!” Hina rushed back behind the building and put her badge to her chest and appeared in her soul reaper outfit and got ready to take out the hollow. “Okay that’s strange, I know I felt a hollow nearby where did it disappear to?” “Looking for me little girl?” Hina turned around quickly and her eyes went wide with shock at the hollow that was in front of her. “No way… it can’t be!?”
“Please Captain, its just one store! I promise I’ll only be in there ten minutes.” The very busty lieutenant whined. “That’s what you said last time Rangiku, now come on we have to find Ichigo Kurosaki.” He continued to walk unbeknown to him his shopaholic lieutenant ran into the store to buy whatever caught her eyes. After walking in silence for more then five minutes Toshiro became suspicious that his lieutenant ditched him. To his theory he was right and was getting ready to give Rangiku a mouthful when he felt two strong spiritual pressures clashing near by. “What’s a hollow doing by Ichigo’s school? And the other spiritual pressure… is it!?” He quickly popped a mod pill into his mouth and ran off to the battle that was taking place at Karakura High. “Why don’t you just give up little soul reaper, it’ll be much easier on both of us if you just let me eat you.” Hina was breathing hard as she whipped the blood that was seeping down her bottom lip. “I don’t think… so you damn hollow, I will kill you… and avenge my parents!” She charged at him using her Zanpakuto to attack the hollow again. “Ahhh now I remember you, you’re that brat whose parents I ate ten years ago. They were so delicious!”
“You bastard! I’ll kill you! Whip! Kibara!” Hina’s zanpakuto transformed, into a black thorny whip. She lashed at the hollow with tears flying from her eyes as the hollow laughed and caught her whip in her hands. “Your little whip won’t hurt me, why don’t you use your bankai or your little hollow mask.” Hina let out a dark chuckle “Heh heh I don’t need to use my bankia or my mask… on someone like you!” The hollow laughed as he pulled the whip towards him more which brought Hina right towards him and he punched her right in her stomach breaking two of her ribs. “Gahhhh…” She coughed up blood as she slammed into a tree then fell to the ground on her stomach. “I told you to use your banki but its too late now, your going where you belong… in my stomach!” Hina’s vision was becoming blurry as she was starting to lose consciousness. “Dammit…I… I can’t die here.” The hollow laughed as his hand stretched out to Hina’s weakened body. Hina lowered her head as she felt tears fall from her eyes. “Forgive me, mother, father, I couldn’t avenge you.” The hollow laugh as its hand came closer to Hina's injured body, its mouth watering at the thought of devouring her.“Its time to eat.”
